How do I sign in?

Enter your phone number and we'll text you a 6-digit code. Enter the code and you're in — no password. down? currently supports U.S. phone numbers.

I didn't get my verification code

Codes usually arrive in a few seconds. Check that your number is correct and that you have service, then tap Resend code. Still nothing? Email support@downthe.app.

How do I invite friends?

Open a hangout and tap invite. Pick friends from your contacts, or share the invite link with anyone. Friends can RSVP straight from the link — they don't need the app first.

Why does down? ask for my contacts?

Only so you can pick friends to invite without typing numbers by hand. It's optional — skip it and share a link instead.

Your contacts are never uploaded. We only save the people you actually choose to invite, never your full contacts list. See our Privacy Policy.

Why does down? ask for my location?

Only to show nearby spots when you're picking a place. It's optional — you can still search any place by name without it.

How do I stop getting texts?

Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Full details on our SMS Consent page.

How do I report or block someone?

Press and hold any message in a hangout chat to Report it or Block the sender. Manage blocked people in Settings → Blocked users.

To report something urgent, email support@downthe.app.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and personal data. If you can't get in, email support@downthe.app.

Is down? free?

Yes. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
